FIGO XXV World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics

Prof. Dr. Fatema Ashraf, Chairman of Smart Healthcare and Research Ltd. (SHRL), participated in the FIGO World Congress 2025, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from October 5–9, 2025.

During the event, Dr. Ashraf actively shared her expertise and exchanged insights with global leaders in maternal and child health. She engaged in meaningful discussions with Professor Sir Arul Kumaran, highlighting the importance of Patient Empowerment in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) management, and interacted with a UK research team working on Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) in Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension (PIH) cases.

Dr. Ashraf also facilitated a session on “Patient Empowerment in Gestational Diabetes Care – Insights from a Randomized Controlled Trial” as a speaker. In addition, she presented an E-poster titled “Chromosomal Aberration, Copy Number Variation (CNV), and Sequencing of the TSPY1 Gene in Males Attending Infertility Workup at Select Tertiary-Level Centers in Bangladesh.”
